2006/07 Steve Care Landed out at base of Kaimais minutes full of water after launching for a 500km task... with air brakes out the entire time!
2005/06 Julian Mason Landed out on maiden flight with motor glider when it ran out of petrol. In his defence he says the fuel gauge was incorrectly calibrated at the factory.
2004/05 Dennis Cook Left tow-out gear at Masterton.
2003/04 Bill Mace After a very long landing during circuit training Bill was debriefing a student with great intensity. Finishing the debrief he leapt into the car to tow the glider back to the launch point only to find himself sitting in the back seat rather than the drivers seat. A difficult mistake to cover up!
2002/03 Phil R Smith (jnr)
2001/02 Les Riesterer Flew with tail dolly still attached. In case there was any doubt, sending Ken Hall out to retrieve a model glider during a contest clinched it!
2000/01 The hangar gang: Dave Reid, Phil E Smith, Ken Hall After carefully measuring and building the hangar extension to house the winch… the winch would not fit!
1999/00 Trevor Atkins (with bar) Landing FN on the beach at Raglan secured the wooden C, temporarily mis-placing JO on a retrieve earned the bar.
1998/99 Hamish Fraser To date, the only tow pilot to receive the Wooden C. Arrived at the west coast at Kawhia while dual towing to Raglan!
1997/98 James Turney Landed out with a passenger, while baby sitting his kids at the airfield!

1987/88 Gerald van Vliet and Phil Smith (snr) Sheep Busters. While landing out on a remote airstrip flying out at the Taupo Easter Camp, three sheep leapt up and attacked FN while at the flare - two of the sheep are no longer with us, and FN's bottom brake was looking the worse for wear!
