The club's PW5 single seat glider SN is named after club member Sandy Norman for years of service to the gliding movement.
The christening of Sierra November was on the 9th of November, 1996. Sandy is seen in the picture holding a framed cartoon presented to him with the caption "So what did you learn today?".
Sandy has now passed away, but his legacy lives on in the club
GSN was recently replaced with a new PW5, GWW. The registration has been switch back to GSN.
